Open House

Last year our Open House was from 5:30 - 6:30 PM but we had 5 rotations so families were rushing through classrooms following the bell schedule.  Because of this, parents who had 3 or less children attending our school were done very early and left campus.  There were some families however who were still on campus which may it seem like a long evening for teachers who didn't have visitors in classroom and a very short Open House for families with only 1 child.

This year, we start earlier but still have a 2 hour block with only 3 rotations.  This will give a longer period of time for teachers to speak with their families and for those who are done visiting classrooms early, we have two other settings they can visit to find out more about what our school is doing in the way of curriculum extension. The Library and MakerSpace for parents finished with classroom visitation(s) is an opportunity to visit these spaces and experience some of the learning their children will be going through.

CAS Sean Tajima will be visiting our campus this evening so he may be popping into the different classrooms getting to know who our school community.

Correlations from iReady to SBA analysis

As we dig deeper into iReady implementation this year, I wanted our District Resource teacher Daniel Noia to pull some data for us correlating SBA and iReady data.  Below are his findings.  This may help grade levels who are looking at iReady scores and goal planning for their classes. Deb Hatada, Principal Kaimiloa Elementary School Office (808) 689-1280   FAX (808) 689-1284 Good morning, Yes. That is correct. I apologize for not making that clear. Restating just for clarification   Greater than .90 High correlation means that there is a definite relationship between performance on iReady and SBA Between .6 and .9 Medium correlation means there might be some relationship or connection between how well a student does on iReady is predictive as to how well they will do on SBA Less than .6 Little correlation means scores on both assessments have no relationship at all to each other I look forward to working with you folks on the 18th a...
