Please notify office of event, start times and end times

Teachers, For this last week, please inform the office of start and end times of your class events. The office is getting many calls from parents and unless it is on the master calendar they don't know the start and end times of events.  As a reminder, when you submit a school-wide request form, you get an approval email. On that email, it states to please make sure the office staff gets a copy of any fliers sent home. This again is so the office staff can answer questions when parents call. Thank you.  To help fix these time issues, from today, we will no longer input dates on the master calendar as all day events. When we can, we will list the specific times of the events.   Chad Nacapuy Vice Principal Kaimiloa Elementary 626-502-6403 Confidentiality Notice:  This e-mail message, including any attachments, is for the sole use of the intended recipient(s) and may contain confidential and/or privileged information.  Any review, use, disclosure, or distribution by unintended r

Re: Coaching Survey SY1819

Thank you teachers.  Feedback is one of the most valuable information that informs where we want to be, where we are and what are our next steps in continuing to provide the best support for all.  Our coaches welcome the feedback you give them and will use it to refine, reinforce and perhaps reinvent the type of support you need need.   I know that many of you may have utilized the support of multiple coaches so please feel free to answer the survey for ALL coaches you have had an opportunity to work with for more than a single or couple of sessions.  This will help us as we transition into next school year where we will have our Instructional Coaching staff divided into two distinct roles/responsibilities - Instructional Curriculum Coaches and Technology/Media Specialists. Please find time this week to complete the surveys.  Some of the questions may seem redundant (first two sections).  The reason is the first section is on listening skills and the second section is on communication

Construction Update for F-Building and Portables

No construction this week: May 26-June 1st.  Portables will not be worked on between June 2-8. HBM will be working on F-Building only.  No work will be done on Monday, June 3rd to allow teachers to finish work in their classrooms.  F-building teachers: Through the month of June HBM will be installing ceiling fans. HBM could not give me a more specific timeline because they don't know how long each room will take. They will use June 3-8th as a test. After June 8th, we are hoping to get a room by room schedule. Once we do I will email it out.  In speaking with HBM, you may enter your rooms to grab small things, etc. but you need to first notify HBM personnel before entering the room for your safety and so they are aware someone is in the area.  Chad Nacapuy Vice Principal Kaimiloa Elementary 626-502-6403 Confidentiality Notice:  This e-mail message, including any attachments, is for the sole use of the intended recipient(s) and may contain confidential and/or privileged info

Sink

Pls. use caution with what you are throwing into all sinks on campus, especially the ones in the office and teacher lounge.  Although both those sinks have garbage disposals, they are not meant to take care of huge amounts of food products. We have had the plumbers in our office for over two hours now trying to fix a very bad backup of coffee grains that created a huge blockage.  Throw all coffee grains/filters and large portions of food into our garbage cans as the custodians take care of our trash cans daily. They had to use a 50 feet snake to clear up the clog and since it didn't quite work and the snake broke somewhere inside the piping, they will now have to go in with a 100 feet snake which I am thinking would be a good problem for our students to solve.  I think a 100 feet stretched out from our office sink would take us to piping somewhere in the middle of our playground or perhaps under the portables. What do your students think?  Real life, relevant, world problems! deb -
