Good Afternoon Teachers,
This is a reminder that your writing samples are due by next week Wed., 9/19/18.
Please submit:
1 - Strong ("highest" or "best")
1 - Developing ("medium")
1 - Well Below
You may use your grade level Informational/Expository Rubric to help you determine the proficiency levels listed above. The focus for now is how well your students communicated information about "what makes a good learner" and not so much on the quantity of content in their writing. We are looking for structure (organization), transitions(if applicable to GL), choice of words and overall flow of the piece.
We (Kaimiloa's Writing Cadre) are working alongside Kalihi Uka's team and therefore share a common prompt as we learn the process of creating a school-wide writing progression. The purpose is for students to have a clear picture of what quality looks like at and in between grade levels as well as for teachers to use it for formative instruction to guide students' progress/next steps with easy to follow criteria and writing samples. We welcome anyone interested in joining our Cadre; just send me an email to join or if you have questions.
THANK YOU, THANK YOU for your cooperation in helping us to learn effective ways to help our students grow as writers!
