You are invited to our book fair preview

Hi all,

Here is a timeline for our book fair, but pay special attention to our book fair preview.
*Please feel free to sign up for the library and continue to use the library, as we will be setting up similar to how Mrs. Gettle had the fall book fair.

February 21:
*Books delivered
*Book fair set up-2:15 p.m. in library

February 22:
*Book fair preview-2:45 p.m.
*One of our scholastic representatives, Shelby, will be here to help us preview the book fair with a scavenger hunt.  All teachers who attend the preview will receive a $5 off coupon towards any purchase at the fair.  Each teacher who attends will also receive a book bin-you get to fill the bin with wish list books...this becomes your teacher wish list.  No more filing out the wish list forms.

February 25-March 4:
*Classroom visits, recess and after school purchases
*Please remember, if there isn't a book fair worker during your class visit, please encourage the students to come back after school.  Please do not run the register yourself.
*Please help monitor cleanliness of the fair
*We will be doing the student scavenger hunt again.  Scavenger hunt sheets will be placed in your box sometime prior to book fair.  Have students complete the scavenger hunt and turn in the completed form to a sixth grade teacher (completed = name, class number, correct answers).  Completed forms will be put into a random drawing.  There will be a lower grade winner and an upper grade winner...winners will receive a $10 scholastic gift certificate to be redeemed at the fair.  Winners will be selected and notified on Friday, March 1st.  That way the winner still has one more day to shop.

*Classroom visitation sign ups will be posted on the TIBB.
*We will need as many volunteers as possible, as the set up for book fair will be similar as the fall fair.  Volunteer sign up will be posted on the TIBB as well.

March 4:
Book fair breakdown-3:15 p.m.

Correlations from iReady to SBA analysis

As we dig deeper into iReady implementation this year, I wanted our District Resource teacher Daniel Noia to pull some data for us correlating SBA and iReady data.  Below are his findings.  This may help grade levels who are looking at iReady scores and goal planning for their classes. Deb Hatada, Principal Kaimiloa Elementary School Office (808) 689-1280   FAX (808) 689-1284 Good morning, Yes. That is correct. I apologize for not making that clear. Restating just for clarification   Greater than .90 High correlation means that there is a definite relationship between performance on iReady and SBA Between .6 and .9 Medium correlation means there might be some relationship or connection between how well a student does on iReady is predictive as to how well they will do on SBA Less than .6 Little correlation means scores on both assessments have no relationship at all to each other I look forward to working with you folks on the 18th a...
